Commissie Sociaal Domein & Wonen

Exercise makes for healthy and happy citizens of Delft. Sport should therefore be accessible and accessible to everyone. We achieve this by offering the Youth Sport Fund, a sports card to get in touch with different sports and by facilitating sports in the public space. This can be done by constructing running paths, urban sports and a skate park.

We see opportunities for connection and sport as preventive care, for example with the neighbourhood sports coaches. They provide social contact and exercise for the elderly and are a stimulus for children to participate in sports and to connect them to sports clubs. We also support the Healthy Sports Canteen project and are looking into extending it to schools.

Swim to Fight Cancer and the Golden Tenloop are successful events that encourage sports and make residents proud of the city. We are committed to attracting even more major sporting events to Delft.
