Lucas Herweijer

Hi, my name is Lucas, I am 22 years old and have been studying Civil Engineering in Delft for more than four years now. Although I originally come from Dordrecht, I feel very much at home in our beautiful city. I therefore look forward to giving something back to Delft by committing myself to local politics, in particular to STIP.

Of course, students are an important part of Delft, but I also want to strongly advocate for the interests of Delftenaren whom I may not have gotten to know before. The positions and vision of STIP align well with my political ideas, and I find it remarkable how they also manage to reach the broader population. A vibrant city, ready for a sustainable future in which we have managed to break through the housing shortage through pragmatic and efficiently implemented policies—focused, effective, and beneficial for everyone.

Critical and open toward myself and the people around me, I hope in the coming period to hear the stories of everyone in Delft. In this way, I want to get to know even better the city to which I already owe so much, and to contribute to good governance and decision-making in an increasingly dynamic world.
